When you get back from a holiday in the mountains, it's important to store your ski clothes properly to preserve them until the next season. Here are a few practical tips on how to care for and store your skiwear correctly, to help it last longer.
Before storing your skiwear, it's essential to clean it properly. Perspiration, snow and pollution can damage the fibres and shorten the life of your clothes.
Start by checking the care label on each garment for the manufacturer's recommendations. Some items can be machine washed, while others need to be washed by hand. For delicate items, a wool cycle with a maximum temperature of 30°C may be suitable. Don't forget to use a mild detergent.
To avoid any risk of damage or shrinkage, make sure you don't exceed the recommended rpm when spinning and don't use a tumble dryer.
Lay your clothes out on a flat surface or a drying rack to prevent warping. If you're hanging them outside, make sure they're protected from direct sunlight and rain.
To protect your ski boots, start by cleaning them with a soft brush and lukewarm water. Remove the inner liners and leave them to air dry. You can also deodorise them with a special spray.
Once your skiwear is clean and dry, it's time to put it away properly to preserve its shape and functionality.
As for your ski boots, make sure you store them in a cool, dry place away from direct light. If you have a specific bag for ski boots, don't hesitate to use it to protect them from dust.
To prepare your ski clothing for the following season, we recommend that you check it regularly to detect any damage or wear that might require repair or replacement.
By taking the time to clean, care for and store your ski clothes properly after each season, you'll prolong their life and enjoy a better experience on the slopes during your next mountain holiday.
