Make sure you grab the 1st week's download - The Side Eyes "Cat Call" Week 2: The High Curbs - "Empty Bottles" Empty Bottles by The High Curbs Grab the free download Having arrived from the Inland Empire like a wild fire, The High Curbs have been busier than ever. But how did it all start? Before they ever worked with Burger Records (Burger released The High Curbs second full length, Marcelo Cleveland on cassette in July 2016), the band were already fans... initially connected through the internet. "Literally, if you have Soundcloud, then you know Burger Records" explained singer Eduardo Moreno, "that's really it." Meeting Sean and Lee and the Burger Records crew in person didn't take much more effort either. "We just went in the store and annoyed the shit out of them... we would just walk in and ask them if they have any shows you could throw us on?". It's much harder to ignore someone in real life as opposed to pestering them on social media... "That [social media] doesn’t work" the band all agreed. It also helps to make friends with other bands on Burger. "Be friends with a band that's on Burger and tell them to record you", said Eduardo. "That's what we did," added drummer Aaron Korbe. The band recorded their debut self-titled EP with Facundo Bermudez, better known as Cundo, who sent Sean the recordings that first put The High Curbs on Burger's radar. But admittedly "things got lost in the shuffle for a year or two" remembered Sean and The High Curbs would go on to self release that EP as well as their follow up full length, Weight Problems. But The High Curbs persistence would pay off. They recorded their second full-length with Audacity's (one of the original bands on Burger Records) Matt Schmalfeld, who then sent the recordings to Sean who thought "they ruled" and "that's when The High Curbs became part of the Burger Fam!" he exclaimed. Part of the NOW SOUND of Burger Records today, The High Curbs hit the Volcom Studio to record a brand new song for the Cyber Singles Club. Entitled "Empty Bottles", the song's about being on tour and is a full blast of garage-punk rock and roll that shows why the band are ready to hit the road every chance they get. As an added bonus, The High Curbs, also made a music video for the song.

Propelled by singer Astrid McDonald's fierce vocal delivery over the muscular fury created from the brotherly band of shredders, Chris and Kevin Devine, and backed by the speedy hands of drummer Nick Arnold, The Side Eyes create a fury fitting for the message... no time spared for stupid cat calls.

Don't call it surf rock! When Noa Deane isn’t surfin’ he can usually be found with a guitar in his hands channeling his alt-rock heroes Mudhoney and Melvins. Last September Noa recorded his first EP entitled barbie69 entirely by himself at his parents house in their kitchen and put it up on Bandcamp. Jamming the album for a while now, the more we listened, the more we wanted to know. So over the course of a few txt msgs we got Noa shine a little light on his music background. When did you first start playing music? What was the first instrument you learned on? When I was about 12, I had a red Fender Squire Stratocaster. You recorded the album in your parents house, what did you record on? Yeah it was in the downstairs kitchen using Garageband. You play guitar left-handed, but drum right-handed. Which hand do you write with? I write with my right hand. I guess I have a few wires crossed in my brain.Heard you own a cello, do you play that one regular or goofy? Bought one and never play it, haha.Any Aussie musicians you look up to or have influenced you? Inxs is sick and I like Silverchair too. Why Blister? Why anything? haha How’s the album doing? You only need to sell 35,000 to get a gold record in Australia, do you already know where you are going to hang yours? It's going alright. Sold $400 bucks worth, but I'll never sell that many. Haha Below's a little taste of Blister live last week in Manly, Australia during Volcom's epic week long takeover of the Hotel Steyne during Riders Week. Give Noa and Blister a follow on Instagram for more.

On the first of october the Volcom store Munich turned 5 years. This was a great reason to blow of the roof of the Strom-Club in munich. First Limestone Whale and Asteroid shook the ground with a blasting show of the finest stoner rock, and afterwards the two DJs Fluppe auf Ex und Vanicea made the crowd dance untill dawn. When everybody stumbeld outside in the first sunlight we could only see smiling happy faces. A big thank you to everybody who helped organizing this event and everyone who took part of that sick birthday party! Right before germany celebrated its 26th reunion anniversary, we pre feast to celebrate the 7th anniversary of the Volcom Store Stuttgart! The party went down in the halls of the club Zwölfzehn aka the Love club, great location to get everyopne hyped. But as the brews were already flowing, the berlin based band „ASTROBOY“ raised the stoke levels to a boundless atmosphere! They definetly heated up the club with their hard garage sound. Afterwards „SUPERIOR“ and „GAST“ wrapped up the bunfight and lead the party to more mayhem At the end there’s not much to say but THANKS to all the people that came have fun and contributed to this wild party.
